Bio-metric system starts functioning in Chandka Hospital
LARKANA: On the directives of the Health Secretary, Dr Fazalullah Pechuho, the biometric system started working in Chandka Medical College Hospital, here on Thursday. The system will verify every employee from BPS-1 to 20 and find out the ghost government servants of the 1500-bed capacity hospital.
This was revealed by Medical Superintendent Dr Inayatullah Kandhro while talking to reporter today. He said over 1000 paramedics and about 300 medics had been directed to give thumb impression to the team members.
He said that the employees had been directed through a circular that whosoever refused to give his/her thumb impression, his/her monthly salary will be stopped with effect from current month. He said that in all five blocks of the hospital, the team will visit and get all the regular employees verified.
He said from Monday, all employees will have to be regular and punctual on their duties; otherwise, stern disciplinary action will be taken against them. Dr Kandhro further said that employees would be verified at the duty place regularly and biometric branch would be established for this purpose in each block so that no employees should leave duty uncompleted.
He said that the entire system would be closely monitored at CMCH Administration Block in Larkana and Health Department in Karachi simultaneously. He said that the team members were also training r local staff to manage the system. Over one hundred employees are alleged to be ghost in this hospital who are very influential having support of local officers. They are drawing salaries while sitting at homes or doing other jobs.
