’National Paramedics Day’ celebrated at JPMC
KARACHI: The paramedical staff throughout Pakistan as well as Sindh province on Thursday observed ‘National Paramedics Day’, aimed at to highlight the importance of paramedical staff in healthcare system.
In the eve of National Paramedics Day, PPMSA, Sindh organized an awareness program at the School of Paramedics, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).
The speakers highlighted the importance of paramedics in healthcare sector and stressed the need of improving coordination among doctors, nurses and paramedics.
President PPMSA Ismail Jiskani, Central President Peoples Paramedical Staff Pakistan Syed Ameer Hussain Shah, Aijaz Kakepoto, Abdul Jabbar Kumhar, Abdul Sattar Kumhar, Haq Nawaz Sial, Hasan Pathan, Asgher Abbbasi, Jaam Jamil, Fateh Almani, Hafiz Serij and Murtaza Haidery were also present.
Ismail Jiskani said paramedics are considered backbone of healthcare sector and they should be given equal employment benefits on the patron doctors and nurses.
He said paramedics should also be given opportunities of good education, health & high-risk allowances and proper implementation on son quota in recruitment. He said residential colonies should be constructed for paramedics on the patron of doctors’ residential colonies.
He demanded of the Federal Government to establish Council of Paramedics as soon as possible and ensure provision health profession allowance, hard area allowance, announce uniform service-structure, ensure implementation of son quota, end privatization of hospitals and establish more paramedics technology colleges across the country.
A cake-cutting ceremony was also held in the end of ceremony while appreciation certificates were distributed amongst paramedical staff.
