Post Budget 2017-18 briefing

QUETTA: Balochistan budget 2017-18 has been prepared with a view to resolve problems of common man. Specialty of this budget is to achieve development objectives of the province and this is the basis this budget has been prepared because by achieving these objectives we can put Balochistan on progress and prosperity.

This was stated by provincial Minister for finance and Agriculture Aslam Bizenjo while speaking at Post budget briefing here Friday evening.

Secretary finance Akbar Hussain Durrani was also present.

Minister Finance said infact Balochistan was passing through major transformation. Our dream is a self sufficient, developed and prosperous Balochistan.

He said priority has been accorded to education for which 9.14 billion have been proposed as development budget and 45.791 billion as non development budget. It is followed by law and order sector for which Rupees 34.828 billion have been allocated. Health has been given 24.414 billion.

Minister Finance said that government has improved tax reforms during current year 2016-17 and establishment of Balochistan Revenue authority is specific effort. In short span it has realized nearly Rupees 3 billion on GST o Services. Provincial own resources were being increased nearly 2 billion during 2016-17which is very god sign.

He said keeping in view financial difficulties and lessening budget deficit Government of Balochistan was strictly following simplicity policy.

He said due to meagre amount we cannot be bring Balochistan at part with Punjab or KP.

Answering a question Finance Minister said our non development budget I to the tune of Rupees 242 billion. Since we have no factory or private sector institutions we are forced to provide employments.

He said we have to pay attention on law and order firstly. When there will be peace there will be education and health. He said there are dangers along our borders. There is some who prepared suicide attackers.

Answering another question he said our government did not take overdraft from State Bank. During Musharraf government we had some overdraft which the then President Asif Zardari slashed with one jerk of pen.

He agreed with a questioner that federal government out of allocation of Rupees 1100 billion development federal government gave nothing to Balochistan. We would take up the matter at the coming meeting of Council f common interest with a tough stand.
