QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly Ms. Raheela Durrani has paid glowing tributes to the martyred journalists of Balochistan, saying that their names would be written in golden words in the annals of history.
She said this while addressing participants to biennial delegates meeting (BDM) of Pakistan Union of Journalists here on Saturday night.
She said that media should also encourage and highlight the people doing good things for the society so that the ones who are doing things for the society could be highlighted and encouraged.
She said that she had also begun her career as a journalist and today she feels pride in journalism, adding that she is well aware of the all the difficulties of the journalists.
Rahila Durrani said that the sacrifices which journalists in the line of duty are not hidden from any, adding that journalists are the fourth pillar of the state and in this capacity they have a huge responsibility to share.
She further added that if journalists use the journalistic life in a positive way, it can reduce the issues in the society to a considerable degree. She was of the view that journalists should also focus on the investigative journalism so that a new dimension in the life could be explored. She said that she would raise voice at all the forums for resolving the issues of journalists, adding that she assures journalists that she stands by them all the times.
