Lahore: Police on Saturday killed 10 militants, including a key facilitator of a February blast, in an encounter on Saturday.
Police said that they were taking five arrested militants to recover weapons and explosives out of Lahore early morning when some armed militants attacked the police party and freed the captives.
Police called for reinforcements and encircled the area, challenging the militants to surrender.
Later, in exchange of firing10 militants were killed. However, police said they were killed in the firing of their accomplices who managed to flee.
Among those killed was a facilitator of a suicide bombing attack in February in Lahore. The man had been arrested soon after the blast after he was spotted on security footage walking with the bomber.
