10th annual sports competitions end at DUHS

KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) 10th sports week that marked its beginning on the 29th January ended at the DUHS.

However, prize distribution ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Moin Auditorium, Dow Medical College on the 8th February, 2018.

The sports week featured different games in which the students from all departments of Dow University participated, enthusiastically.

The girls of Institute of Medical Technology (IMT) outplayed rivals in the cricket tournament.

The boy’s cricket tournament was also won by the boys of Institute of Medical Technology.

Dow Medical College (DMC) snatched the victory from Dow College of Pharmacy (DCOP) in the net ball finals while basketball and football boys’ tournament was won by Dow International Medical College.

Masood Ahmed from Dow College of Pharmacy won 100-meter boy’s race, while Amir Rab stood successful in the 200 and 400 meter races.

The girls of School of Public Health (SPH) gave a tough competition to rival teams.

Hani Ayaz from SPH stood as the winner of potato-sack race while Miss. Sumbul Parvez, also from SPH, was successful in the tandem walk.

Long jump race (boys) was won by Hamza Zaid and the long jump race girls were won by Kiran Khan, both from Dow College of Pharmacy (DCOP).

Amir Rab from Dow International Medical College (DIMC) was the winner in hurdle race while Mansoor Ahmed from Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (IPM&R) stood top in short pit.

The teachers and faculty also became the part of these exciting games.

Ms. Muniza from SPH won the 100 meter race while the team from Dow Medical College was successful in table tennis and badminton.

The 200-meter race (girls) was won by Rafia Irfan, 100-meter race by Sana Khan while Amir Rab was declared as the Best Player of the tournament.
