18 suspects among diesel smuggler held in Police crackdown

KARACHI: Karachi police on Friday claimed to have arrested 18 suspects including a diesel smuggler in different raids and recovered arms, snatched motorbikes, cell phones and drugs from their possession during the last 24 hours.

According to the Karachi police report, during search operations in Sharfi Goth, Surjani town, Eidgha, Ittehad town, and Madina Colony, police detained eight street criminals, Yar Mohammad, Sani Siddiqui, Muneer, Mohammad Asif, Tanveer, Orangzeb, Zubair, Adnan, and recovered five TT pistols, 12 snatched mobile Phones from their possession.

Police carried out raids in Ibrahim Hydri, Zaman town areas, and nabbed three drug peddlers, Dhanu Mal, Bachu, Mohammad and Iqbal and recovered wine, hashish from them.

Police also arrested three motorbike lifters, Ishtiaq Nabi, son of Nabi Hussain, Danial son of Aqeel, Mohammad Asad son of Mohammad Akhtar, from Ajmair Nagri and Shahrah Noor JAHAN areas. The police also recovered three stolen bikers from.

According to police sources, on a tip-off, Mouchko police seized 5,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel from a HINO passenger bus with registration No BSA- 562. The diesel was concealed into the specially designed hidden cavities of the bus.

The police also arrested bus driver Abdul Waheed, son of Mohammad Baloch, from the spot. The police handed over him to the Custom police for further legal formalities.

The police registered FIRs against detainees and started further investigation, said police.
