2 AIDS control centers not sufficient to cater Balochistan patients

Quetta:Two AIDS control centers working under health department government of Balochistan are not sufficient to cater the growing number of AIDS/HIV patients in the province.

Balochistan Health Department has established Aids Control Centres in Quetta and Turbat but more facilities are needed to cater patients in different areas of the province.

In Quetta, Turbat, Killa Saifullah, Zhob, Sherani, Gwader, Loralai, Lasbella, Nushki, Killa Abdullah and Pishin, a large number of patients live with AIDS/ HIV virus.

A recent case is of a young boy Sanaullah Mohammad Hasni, Son of Amanullah, resident of Chalu Bowri, Quetta. He is just 15 years of age, but is HIV positive. He is being treated at Right way Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, Goli Mar Chowk, Quetta.

The civil society has demanded improving medical facilities for the AIDS/HIV patients in this backward province.
