ACC meeting discusses 90 cases

LARKANA:A meeting of Anti-Corruption Committee-II (ACC) was held in the Committee Room of Commissioner’s office here on Sunday with Commissioner Larkana Division, Rafique Ahmed Buriro, who is also Chairman of the Committee in chair. The meeting discussed some 90 cases related to different Sindh Government departments.

These provincial departments include Colleges (one matter), Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (one matter), Irrigation Department, Registration Office, Revenue (eight matters), Food, Highways, Survey, SCARP, Education and Works, Excise and Taxation, Health, Estate Departments and Mukhtiarkar offices.

The Chairman, ACC-II directed after scrutinizing the probes that 11 FIRs be registered against various departments which include College, BISE, eight matters of Revenue Departments, one matter each of Highways and Survey Departments. Whereas 53 matters were referred back to the concerned departments for departmental action after thorough probe which include Irrigation (1 matter) Highways (10 matters), one matter each of Excise and Taxation, Health Departments, Barrage Office and 39 matters of Revenue Department..22 matters were closed due to unavailability of proof which includes 20 of Revenue and one each of SCARP and Education and Works Department.

Commissioner on the occasion directed the investigation officers to thoroughly probe into the matters in future with solid proofs so that justice could be provided to the complainants. He said no corrupt official will be forgiven even if he is very influential so that he should not dare to involve himself in corruption in future.

Deputy Commissioners of Larkana Muhammad Nauman Siddique, Kambar-Shahdadkot’s Javed Ali Jagirani, Jacobabad’s Imran Ali and head of relevant departments along with ACE officers participated in the meeting. Larkana’s ACE Deputy Director Javed Ahmed Halepoto presented the cases.

It must be mentioned here that Commissioner Buriro is posted at Sukkur Division and has been assigned to hold the charge of the post of Commissioner, Larkana Division, in addition to his own duties, till further orders, vide notification issued on 29th November, 2018 by SGAandCD, Karachi.

The post of Larkana Division Commissioner has been vacant for past three months and no full time BS-20 Officer is posted to run the affairs of the division on permanent basis.
