Karachi: Preparations have been finalized for the elections of mayors and deputy mayors that are scheduled on Tuesday.
However, strong security measures have been taken in this regard.
In this connection Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he has directed the law enforcement agencies to provide proper security to the newly elected councilors so that they could participate in the election of mayor and chairmen.
Talking to media Shah said that nobody would be allowed to hijack the peace of this city. He said it is responsibility of the police to provide security to each and every citizen.
Replying to another question regarding new political developments in MQM, the chief minister said it was their internal matter. “I respect the mandate of the people of the Karachi,” he said.
Separately, Corps Commander Karachi Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar called on Sindh Chief Minister and discussed over all law and order situation. They also discussed the issue of hate speeches delivered yesterday.
