KARACHI: A Judicial Magistrate on Tuesday sent a woman who was pretending herself as a doctor at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to jail on judicial remand.
Ayesha who was arrested from JPMC’s gynaecology ward was presented before Judicial Magistrate by woman police constables. The investigators requested the court to grant 14-day physical remand of the woman accused as she was required for interrogation.
According to police, Matric-passed Ayesha had been operating unlawfully in JPMC’s gynaecology ward for last one year. She was nabbed after the ward administration found her suspicious.
Police said that during the checking medicines were found Ayesha’s bag but she did not have any lady health visitor card.
The magistrate sent the woman accused to prison on judicial remand till March 26. Later, the police filed a review application and asked the court to grant Ayesha’s two-day physical remand but this application was dismissed too. The magistrate ruled that police can investigate the accused in the jail.
