QUETTA: Jam Kamal Khan, Chief Minister, Balochistan, has said that Almighty Allah has blessed Balochistan with charming tourist resorts and natural beauty.
In a statement issued here on Monday to mark the “Word Tourism Day”, Khan said Balochistan was having unique status due to its natural mountains, forests and waterfalls. He said that ample opportunities for investment in the province to uplift tourism sector existed, adding that the incumbent provincial government was taking steps to promote tourism industry in Balochistan.
He said that several development projects were being executed to restore tourist resorts of the province. Khan said, “Religious shrines are our assets, therefore, measures were being adopted regarding promotion of religious tourism in the province”. He added that all basic facilities had already been provided to the tourists at Pirghaib picnic point while work for dual carriageway way of Hanna Urak was in progress.
He said Master Plan of Shaban tourist resort was being planned, adding that eco-tourism-huts in Shaban valley with the estimated cost of Rs. 50 million was being constructed besides establishing tourism campaign villages worth 100 million in Herboe, Sheenghar and Kojak resorts of the province.
He said Rs.300 million had been reflected for construction of rest houses in tourist resorts of Balochistan. Khan added that Rs. 115 million had been earmarked for extension of Mian Ghundi project, adding that roads, walking tracks, camping areas and other facilities were being provided to the tourists at Pirghaib, Bolan, Mula Chutak, Kerkhesa and Ziarat. “Growth and promotion of tourism sector will help boost employment opportunities for local people besides increasing revenue of the province”, said Jam Kamal Khan.
