ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said on Wednesday that amended Islamabad local govt law will create the most empowered local govt in Pak history.
In a Twitter message issued today, “Cabinet approved the amended Islamabad local govt law. This law will create the most empowered local govt in Pak history. For the first time we have a law which fully meets the requirements of article 140a of the constitution which requires empowered local governments.”
“President Dr Arif Alvi has issued Islamabad Local Government Ordinance 2021. The ordinance was issued under Article 89 of the Constitution,” said the president’s office.
