ASI among 20 suspects apprehended

KARACHI: Karachi police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 20 suspected criminals, including a Assistant Sub Inspector of police, from different parts of the city.

A police team raided Shah Latif town and arrest Assistant Sub Inspector Ajaz Mughal for allegedly conducting aerial firing during New Year celebrations.

According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, the ASI was arrested after his video went viral on social media.

During search operations in Quaidabad, Tamuria, Saeedabad and Hydri areas, police arrested eight drug peddlers, Sajid, Tariq, Sadiq, Aftab, Ali Shah, Shams, Mohammad Fahim and Abdul Sattar. The police also recovered a huge quantity of hashish and wine from their possession.

A Frere police party arrested a motorcycle lifter, Kaleem Shah, son of Maqbool Shah, and recovered a stolen bike No-KEM-3157 and drugs from him.

Meanwhile, a Shershah police also detained a motorcycle lifter, namely Kashif, son of Abdul Ghaffoor Baloch, and recovered stolen bike No- KFF 4525 from his possession.

During crackdown on street criminals, police carried out search operations in Garden, Azizabad, Orangi town, and Liaquatabad, and nabbed nine accused, . Khurram, son Mohammad Yousuf, Abid, son of Yaseen Jama, Shahzad Javed son of Javed Hussain, Ali Shaan son of Rizwan Naqvi, Khalid son of Abdul Hakeem, Ejaz son of Abdullah, Feroz, son of Abdul Hameed, Ghulam Hussain, Faisal Ali son of Rehman Ali, and recovered six TT pistols with rounds, drugs, and explosive material from their possession.
