BA adopts resolution, constitutes Parliamentary Committee

QUETTA: Balochistan assembly adopted a resolution here Saturday. Resolution was jointly moved by Asim Kurd Galloo, Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel, Aamir Rind, Syed Mohammad Raza, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Dr Hamid Achakzai, Syed Liaqat Agha, Obedullah Babat, Dr Malik Baloch, Khalid Langav, Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Zamrak Achakzai, Izhar Hussain Khosa, Mohammad Khan Lehri, Abdul Rehman Khetran, Nasrullah Zeray, Mohtarma Husn Bano and Dr Shama Ishaq Baloch.

It said according to recent census Balochistan population has grown to 12 million souls. Election Commission in recent demarcation increased three seats in National Assembly form Balochistan but provincial assembly seats were not increased. Therefore resolving problems of people at their doorsteps was not only difficult but impossible while there is also apprehension of scuffle among various nations.

This House recommends to provincial government to approach federal government to review new demarcations in view of growing population and vast area under which 20 seats should be increased in provincial assembly on district basis and in national assembly so that unrest prevailing among the people could be removed.

Dr Malik Baloch, Sarfraz Bugti, Hamid Achakzai, Zamrak Achakzai, Nasrullah Zeray, Abdul Rehman Khetran, Liaqat Agha, Yasmeen Lehri, Molvi Maazullah, Nawab Shahwani, Rehmat Baloch, Agha Raza and others also spoke on the resolution.

When put to vote House adopted it.

Speaker Rahila Durrani formed parliamentary Committee headed by Dr Malik Baloch which would approach Federal government over the matters.

House would now meet on March 20.
