Begum Ashraf Abbasi remembered


LARKANA: Second anniversary of noted parliamentarian & former National Assembly speaker Begum Ashraf Abbasi was observed here in Waleed locality in Kot Abbasi on Wednesday night.

It was participated by large number of people; some of them had come from Punjab as well.

While addressing the activists, the central leader of Peoples Party Workers, Naheed Khan, said that PPP is the party of martyred and Ghazies and a mafia which has occupied this party presently is not the follower of Bhutto.

She said PPP is not the property of anybody but it is the party of the people. She asked party workers to follow Begum Ashraf Abbasi who tried her best by going street by street to save Bhutto but never compromised on principles.

She said people will certainly come out to save Bhutto’s party because “after darkness sun has to rise.

Paying rich tributes to Begum Ashraf Abbasi, she said that Begum Abbasi belonged to a village but now her village is proud of her as she is known to the world now.

She said three women contested elections previously from Larkana adding Larkana district is proud because dignitaries like Shaheed Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Begum Ashraf Abbasi were born here.

Naheed Khan said that Begum Abbasi did not miss a single session of parliament throughout her political life.

Dr. Safdar Abbasi said that Amma started politics from Bhuttos and finished it with Bhuttos, adding she was not controversial leader neither her personality can be made controversial.

Haji Munawar Abbasi, former MPA Ghulam Qadir Bhutto, Badar Dharaho and others also spoke.
