QUETTA: Balochistan Rural Support Programme is a non profitable and non government organisation. It is striving for providing clean drinking water, health, education, cleanliness and employment since long in far flung areas of Balochistan which is largest area of country area wise.

Owing to scattered population Balochistan is backward compared to other provinces. Province lacks basic facilities to lead a good life.

According to BRSP Spokesperson owing to lawlessness there are hurdles in the way of development but there is direly need for development work in the province. Balochistan Rural Support Programme with Financial assistance of European Union has started Rural Development for Community Empowerment Programme from July in seven districts of the province including Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Zhob, Loralai, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi and Washuk. Under this programme education, health, clean drinking water, CPI schemes to provide employment and other facilities. Basic objective of this programme is to minimize poverty and raise standard of living of the people in remote areas.

Under first phase of the programme survey was being conducted in above mentioned districts through poverty score card. It is World Bank approved tool under which poverty is balanced. It would not only help provide basic facilities of life to the people but it would also point out disabled people in these districts.
