Call to meet HBT demands

QUETTA: Syed Noor Muhammad Shah, Chairman, Harnai Bachao Tehreek (HBT), has warned the authorities not to compel HBT to adopt undemocratic way for getting the legitimate demands of HBT entertained.

Talking to PPI here on Wednesday in the protest camp of HBT set up outside Quetta Press Club, he said that office bearers as well as workers of HBT had been spending days and nights in the protest camp set up outside Quetta Press Club in that chilly weather of Quetta for the last 64 days to get the 47 points demands of HBT entertained, but he added that the authorities had turned a deaf year to the legitimate demands of HBT. He said that HBT was going to block Harnai to Punjab and Harnai to Sibi main highways besides observing a shutter down strike and staging a protest demonstration in all areas of District Harnai, including Harnai, Shahrug. Khost and Nakus, followed protest sit-in outside Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Governor’s Secretariat to get the genuine demands of HBT entertained.

Demanding for entertaining the genuine demands of the people of Harnai, he said that the office bearers and workers of HBT in support of the people of Harnai were ready to render any kind of sacrifices to get the 47 points charter of demand of HBT entertained. It is pertinent to mention that HBT had been protesting in the protest camp of HBT set up outside Quetta Press Club for the last 64 days, demanding restoration of railway line from Harnai to Sibbi area of Balochistan, maintaining law and order situation in district Harnai, providing job opportunities to the unemployed youth of Harnai, establishing of university campus in Harnai, steps against drug abuse, restoring old constituency status of district Harnai, construction of sports complexes in different areas of Harnai, provision of ambulances to all Union Councils of district Harnai, setting up offices for officers of district administration in Tehsil Shahrug by giving the full-fledged status of Tehsil to Sharug area of Harnai, overcoming the dearth of teaching staff in government girls colleges, schools of district Harnai, provision of medicines, necessary healthcare equipments and posting of doctors and other staff in all the healthcare facilities of district Harnai. On the occasion, central leader of HBT, Khudaidad Bhatti, Vice Chairman, HBT, Malik Muhammad Akbar Tareen and others were also present.
