Christian community condemns blasphemous posts on Facebook

Peshawar: Christian community strongly condemned blasphemous posts on Facebook regarding prophet Issa (A) and his companions and appealed Chief Justice of Pakistan to take stern action against responsible elements.

Addressing press conference in Peshawar Press Club on Monday, Bishop Humphrey Safaraz Patel said that Christian community is constantly engaged in efforts for bringing interfaith harmony in the society and promoting peace and tolerance in society but unfortunately now publishing such defamatory posts on facebook wall has badly hurt our sentiments in all over the country.

He appealed Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif to pen point these elements and award them vigorous punishment under article 295C of FIA cyber crime Act. He said that Hazrat Iss (A) and his companion preached truth, honesty tolerance and peace for the guidance of the entire world but now certain elements want to promote intolerance and chaos in society.

He also appealed Chief Justice Supreme Court to take serious action against those elements who are posting blasphemous caricatures on facebook. He warned that chritian community will also stage country wide demonstration against these blasphemous posts on facebook until the arrest of responsible persons.
