CITY: (NHRJ appoints Tassaddiq Hussain as Canada chapter president)

ISLAMABAD:Chief Executive Network for Human Rights and Justice (NHRJ) Muhammad Zulqarnain Sulehria has appointed Sayed Tassadiq Hussain as President NHRJ Canada chapter.

It gives me great pleasure to appoint Sayed Tassadiq Hussain as president Canada of the NHRJ, who is a competent person and a torch bearer of human rights,” Sulehria said in a statement issued here on Thursday.

Following appointment of Hussain, Sulehria said that it has specially been decided that Hussain would act in the said filed who would work to promote human rights and justice.

Hussain would work with the aims and objectives of NHRJ in larger interest to ensure human rights and justice in larger interests of the community.

It is hoped that the poor, needy and deserving people will be helped and there will be needed awareness of human rights, justice and peace,” he added.

He said NHRJ is an independent, national organization that works as part of a vibrant movement to uphold human dignity and advance the cause of human rights and justice for all.

When we established NHRJ in 2018, we had a deep conviction that we could and must act against the violation of human’s rights in our country and around the world.

Equality now has become a standard for activism on the ground where we try to translate human rights needs into national, regional and international law, policy, and practice,” he observed.

NHR is a platform for addressing and challenging barriers, inequalities and injustices that exist in society, he said, adding that forming short and longer-term working relationships with and mobilizing individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities to enhance their wellbeing and their problem-solving capacities.

He said NHRJ works for equality, equal education, equal nutrition, equal health, equal opportunities, gender equality, humanitarian situations and relief during natural disasters. “One of our core focuses apart from working on the ground, is Advocacy and influencing policy,” he added.

NHRJ publishes reports on multiple social issues having extensive coverage in local and international media. Its primary objectives are to promote and protect Human Rights and to help the poor and down trodden in securing their rights through advocacy, research, legal aid and financial assistance.

NHRJ with this leverage bring all national organization, institutions and human rights defenders to press for change in policy and practice that promote and implement declarations, covenants, protocols and communiqués related to Human Rights and justice around the country.
