Sialkot: Ambassador of Spain in Pakistan Mr. Carlos Morales said Spain was much keen to develop strong Business-to-Business contacts with Pakistan besides focusing on promoting the SMEs in Pakistan on modern lines and paving the ways to find out the opportunities to advanced technology transfer.
He stated this while talking to the leading exporters while visiting some leading industrial units in Sialkot here.
He said that B2B contacts could help to boost the mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Spain, saying that Spain was ready to make mutual strenuous efforts for this purpose.
Spanish Ambassador added that Spain was much keen to boost the mutual trade ties with Pakistan, pledging to make efforts to remove all the hurdles from the way of promoting the mutual trade between Pakistan and Spain.
Later, addressing a meeting held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry(SCCI) here , Spanish Ambassador said that the time was high to do more for further increasing the mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Spain.
SCCI President presided over the meeting. While other senior officials of the Spanish Embassy also attended the meeting.
Mr. Carlos Morales also assured to make all out sincere efforts from Spain to increase the mutual trade volume in favour of Pakistan as well .
Ambassador of Spain invited the Sialkot exporters to divert their business activities to Spain, saying that the Sialkot exporters were much aware of the international quality standards and they also have the great potential to explore and capture the international trade markets of Spain and EU countries through Spain as well by exporting their diversified traditional and non-traditional export products.
Spanish Ambassador assured Sialkot exporters their easy access to international Spanish trade markets and even the EU trade markets through Spain as well.
He also asked the Sialkot exporters to participate the international trade fairs and exhibitions to be held in Spain as well.
He also stressed upon the need of making some effective joint efforts to boost mutual trade between Pakistan and Spain.
Mr. Carlos Morales vowed to make all out sincere efforts to boost mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Spain, saying that the time was ripe to further strengthen these mutual trade ties.
He said that both of the countries have been enjoying the cordial trade relations.
On this occasion, the Sialkot exporters said that Spain had always been a close partner of Pakistan in terms of bilateral trade and socio-economic development.
Sialkot exporters revealed that the dedicated efforts are needed from both sides to further improve two-way trade between Pakistan and Spain.
“There was an urgent need for diversification of exports as both Pakistan and Spain have tremendous potential for business communities at both sides”, They added.
Sialkot exporters narrated that both Pakistan and Spain should facilitate single country trade exhibitions and encourage frequent exchanges of trade delegations to enhance private sector and contact.
They asked the Spanish Ambassador to kindly facilitate for investments and joint ventures in the value added industries of Sialkot which would be beneficial for both sides. Spain’s advances have led to success for industries not just in Spain, but around the world.
“We firmly believe that with Spanish Technology and Pakistani Craftsmanship, we could do wonders in the International markets”, the Sialkot exporters hoped.
SCCI President added that the total trade volume between Pakistan and Spain was around 1.1 (B) Euros with balance of trade in favour of Pakistan at 927 (M) Euros.
