LARKANA: The Chief Justice, Sindh High Court, Karachi, has taken notice of the incident of alleged torture of Ms. Parveen Rind, House Officer, Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women, Shaheed Benazirabad, PPI learnt Saturday.
The letter issued by the Registrar Abdul Razzaq addressed to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), deputy commissioner, Shaheed Benazirabad and Registrar of the university, said that alleged torture of one Ms. Perveen Rind, house officer at the university at the hands of there officials of the said medical university as reported/aired in print/electronic/social media, you are directed to appear in person along with report before the Honourable Chief Justice on Tuesday, 15th February, 2022 at 1.00pm.
In another development, an Inquiry Committee has been constituted on the directives of Minister Health Sindh to enquire into the complaint made by Ms Perveen Rind in print and electronic media against three officials including Director Nursing School.
The committee includes Dr. Muhammad Juam Bahooto, Director General Health Services, Sindh as Chairman and include Dr. Shahabudding Qureshi, Deputy Director General HRD and PME, Dr. Rukhsana Channar, Additional Director (Curative).
The Terms of Reference (ToRs) of the committee include ” The committee shall follow the Harassment Act and Regulations while conducting inquiry, The chairman of the committee is authorized to select/coopet any member (s) and can extend and include person(s) for inquiry/investigation besides the alleged officials and to record evidence and submit the findings with recommendations for appropriate action within three days positively”. The letter has been issued by Section Officer (General) Farooq Ahmed Abro of the Health Department.
