KARACHI: A policeman was killed in an armed attack in North Nazimabad area of the metropolis on Friday.

According to police source, a policeman, Shakir Ahmad a resident of Orangi Town, was going to the Gulberg Police Station, unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire on him in Landi Kotal Chowrangi. As a result, he suffered severe bullet injuries in his head and died on the spot.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Central Irfan Baloch said that two empty 9-MM shells were found at the scene. He also said that the killing was seems an incident of target killing.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
