KARACHI: The staff of Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD), Sindh has not been paid salaries for last four months, causing hardships for them and their families.
Sources at PCPD told PPI that technical and field staff of dengue control program has been deprived salaries for last four months.
57 employees of Dengue Control Programme from grade-2 to grade-17 have not been paid salaries since joining of duties.
Social mobilisers, field workers, entomologist, drivers and other staff were not paid their salaries from October 2017. These employees are facing financial crisis.
Programme Manager, Prevention and Control Program of Dengue Sindh, Dr Abdul Rasheed Sheikh, while talking to PPI, said a summery has already been sent to Sindh health department for release of budget for payment of salaries to technical and field staff.
He informed that salaries have been delayed due to verification process of newly recruited staff and hoped employees get pending salaries cheques soon.
