LARKANA: Recently elected Deputy Senate Chairman, Salim Mandviwalla, has said that due to the struggle of Bhutto leaders, he was elected as deputy chairman in the senate of Pakistan. He said the senate will be run as per the agenda of PPP.
He said he had remained in the senate for the last five years and he knew the supremacy of parliament. He said all four provinces had equal representation in the senate, adding voice will be raised for the rights of the smaller provinces. He was talking to media persons in Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday where he reached for the first times after being elected as deputy senate chairman.
Earlier, he along with other PPP leaders laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha at the graves of Bhutto leaders including PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, former slain Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and others. “PPP and PTI are the opposition parties. PPP has already nominated Senator Sherry Rahman as their opposition leader candidate.”
He said that the impact of senate elections will surely be seen in the upcoming general elections in which, he claimed, PPP will come out with flying colours and will form central and provincial governments. Senator Ajiz Dhamrah, Rashid Rabbani, Murtaza Wahab, Javed Nagori and other party leaders accompanied him. Larkana mayor Aslam Shaikh presented the guest with traditional gifts of Sindhi cap and Ajrak. They received warm welcome during their visit to the Bhutto mausoleum by the PPP activists of Naundero and Larkana.
