KARACHI: A Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) unit has been established in the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Accident, Emergency & Trauma Centre and three to four procedures are being done in this unit every day.

Focal Person, SMBB Trauma Centre, Syed Aamir Raza Abidi, while talking to PPI, said Digital Subtraction Angiography Unit has been set up for the patients of cardiovascular and vascular diseases. He said the DSA is a type of fluoroscopy technique used in interventional radiology to clearly visualize blood vessels in a bony or dense soft tissue environment.

He informed that state-of-the art equipments have already been installed, while a qualified consultant is performing angiographies, angioplasties, arteries and stents fixation through advance technology. He said three to four sessions are being performed in this Unit every day.
