Education minister introduces two bills in BA

QUETTA: Provincial Education Minister Tahir Mahmood Khan introduced two bills in Balochistan assembly here Tuesday. Speaker Ms Rahila Durrani chaired the session and later adjourned the session indefinitely.

First bill was Chakar Khan Rind University Sibi bill. The other bill was Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology Khuzdar.

Speaker referred these bills to concerned standing Committee of the House under Rule 84 of Provincial Assembly Rules of procedure and Conduct of Business 1974.

PMAP Parliamentary leader Abdu Rahim Ziaratwal said that Sibi University project is part of Federal PSDP and it is an ongoing project. It was approved in 2014 and it has been reflected in the budgets. Provincial cabinet had discussed this project but since it is part of federal PSDP only Federal cabinet and government have authority to change its name. Four Universities were approved in Balochistan in federal PSDP. Of these three Turbat, Khuzdar and Loralai universities are in their name while university in Sibi was also there but now its name was being changed. It should not be made disputed,

Education Minister said that bill has been referred to concerned House committee and it would hold detailed discussion on it and whatever decision as taken it would be admitted by all. Let Committee do its work.

Abdul Rehman Khetran said after Speaker’s ruling there is no room for arguments. At this Abdul Rehman Khetran and PMAP MPAs started speaking simultaneously. They also exchange hot words.

Speaker said bill has been referred to the committee and it should be allowed to work. On this PMAP members staged walk out from House.
