KARACHI: Excise and Taxation Department Larkana on Sunday claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of charas and arrested two accused while a truck was also impounded.
According to details, during a drive against drug peddlers, initiated on the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla, a team of E&T Department Larkana, headed by officers Qurban Ali Shaikh, Ali Ahmed Abbasi and Ahmed Ali, searched a truck No C1339 at Larkana bypass Ratodero and found 920 kilogram hashish was hidden in small sacks.
The Excise and Taxation team arrested two accused Amanullah and Abid Shah, resident of Charsada KPK and the truck was impounded as well. A case has been registered against them and the investigations were underway. Meanwhile, Chawla appreciated the performance of the E&T team and expressed his commitment that the campaign against drug peddlers will continue and the province will be made a drug-free province.
