KARACHI: A woman posing herself as lady doctor was arrested from the Gynaecology Ward of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) last evening and handed over to women police.
Executive Director and In-Charge Emergency Department, JPMC, Dr Seemin Jamali, while talking to PPI, said that security staff posted in the Gynaecology Ward informed about the suspicious activities of a woman who are wearing doctors’ uniform.
“The administration called the Women Police who arrested the woman when she failed to prove her identity,” she added.
She informed that later the lady was identified as Aisha Karim, a resident of Korangi area of Karachi. Dr Seemin Jamali, however, rejected the statement of fake lady doctor that she had been working in the Gynaecology Ward for one year. She said it is impossible for an outsider to work in the ward without coming to the notice of security and hospital staff.
She further informed that three mobile phones and a medical kit box were recovered by the police during search. She said staff and security officials of hospital are very vigilant and several imposters have been arrested in past from the premises of the JPMC.
