FIA Foils escape bid by Rao Anwar at Islamabad airport

Karachi

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday foiled an escape bid by former SSP Malir Rao Anwar at Islamabad airport, who is facing charge of involved in extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud.

Anwar was trying to escape Dubai through a private airlines’ flight EK-615 from Islamabad airport when FIA stopped him from leaving the country.

The former SSP Malir refused to appear before the three-member probe team and termed it bias. Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal earlier said that Anwar should present himself before the team, which also had the right to take action against him.
