During the meeting, they discussed matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation and regional security situation. The French envoy expressed the desire to have long-term cooperation with Pakistan in war against terror.

He also highlighted the importance of collective efforts against terrorism and said that France is willing to strengthen defence and intelligence cooperation in a comprehensive framework. National Security Adviser reiterated that Pakistan is willing to have friendly ties with all neighbouring countries, however, India, by refusing dialogues, has defeated the spirit of bilateralism.

He said all mature nations seek and resolve their issues by way of dialogue and that is what Pakistan would always insist upon while maintaining its national dignity and honour.

On Afghanistan situation, the Adviser stressed that all the stakeholders should play a role in seeking peace there and this should not be put on Pakistan alone.
