KARACHI: Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will have a good impact on Pakistan.
He was talking to Professor Dr. Hammadullah Kakeputo, Director of Area Study Centre, Far East & Southeast Asia (FESEA) University of Sindh, here on Friday.
Governor said that in next few years China will be the centre of the world economy and this will change the global economic map regarding new economic corridors, adding his this regard Pakistan has already been playing a key role.
Governor Sindh said the CPEC)will be a global economic venture for East and South Asia, and Gwadar and Karachi will gain a significant importance in global trade.
He said Karachi has a unique and attractive significance in the commercial market due to its regional location, adding the CPEC project will also make Karachi a global market and the city will also get a significant position on the global economic map.
He said, due to increase in commercial and economic activities, the government is paying special attention to the maintenance and development of infrastructure so that industrial, commercial, business and social activities can be further promoted.
He said with the CPEC, Pakistan will come closer to the East and South Asian countries, and it would also be easy to reach Pakistan for other countries of the region, and this will result increase in trade, economic, business and social activities.
He hailed Area Study Centre for East & South Asia for playing an important role in current situation.
