KARACHI: More than 40 physically-challenged persons, including female, from Hyderabad, Jamshoro and Matli held a protest demonstration outside the Sindh Assembly entrance gate on Saturday, demanding implementation of job quota for disabled persons.

Holding placard and banners, protestors on wheelchairs and walking sticks, sat at the entrance of the Sindh Assembly building, chanting slogans. Talking to PPI, leader of handicap persons Abduallah Khan Korai said: “We are facing trouble due to non-implementation of 5% job quota. We have come here from all over Sindh and will not leave till we are given jobs.

Police blocked all roads leading to the Sindh Assembly. A disable man, Saeed, was injured and another man, Shabir, turned unconscious during the protest.

They were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.
