Health Minister gives medicines, vehicles

QUETTA: Making health policy is responsibility of provincial government after 18th amendment. Balochistan Health policy would be announced within two months. During four and half years record work has been carried out in Health Department. All the vertical programmes of health department were ensured 100 percent funds after 15 years. Coalition government regularized seven thousand lady health workers in the province compared to other provinces. Another 700 lady health workers appointed are being made shortly.

These views were expressed by Provincial health minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch, provincial minister Aslam Bizenjo, NP MPA Yasmeen Lehri, PMAP MPA Arifa Siddiq, Secretary Health Javaid Anwar Shahwani and others while addressing provision of medicines and vehicles to Lady Health Workers from all the districts of the province under National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Health Care here Saturday.

Provincial Minister Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hasani, NP MPA Islam Baloch and others were also present. When we assumed power doctors were on strike in the province and abduction of doctors for ransom was routine matter. Law and order situation was extremely bad. Due to efforts of provincial government law and order has improved in the province and doctors were and others were discharging their responsibilities without any fear. He said seven thousand lady health workers were regularize dint he province. Previously these were working on daily wages. Soon Lady health workers would be given service structure and payment of their arrears would be ensured. These would be paid through banks so that there is no corruption. He said soon another 700 lady health workers are being appointed which would improve coverage of national programme for family planning and primary health care.

We are providing70 vehicles medicines, kits, monitoring and others goods having value of Rupees 500 million. Now is t is responsibility of lady health workers and District health officers to provide medicines to poor and deserving patients. And make no wrong use of vehicles.

He said making health policy is responsibility of provincial government after 18 th amendment. Health policy of health department would be made in next two months. He said role of lady health workers is major in providing basic health to mother and child in far flung areas.

Provincial Minister Aslam Bizenjo said that provision of funds for health department would be ensure in time and department would create no hurdle.

At the end provincial ministers and MPAs distributed medicines, kits, key s of vehicles for lady health worriers of all the districts. Shedds and certificates were also distributed among district Health officers for their best performance.
