Heatwave continues in Karachi, interior Sindh

KARACHI:Heatwave continued to hit Karachi and interior Sindh on Friday with average maximum temperature range of 41-42 degrees centigrade. Temperature in Karachi climbed to 41.3 today. The hot conditions would ease out from tomorrow with a decrease of daytime temperature by 2-3C, according to met office report issued today.

The north and northwest-directed wind flow of 08-12kts is likely to dominate during today and from tomorrow onward gradually return to west and southwest. The authorities and all stakeholders are requested to continue with their efforts of precautionary measures and keep them abreast for update from Met Office.

Today, a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next two to three days while loadshedding continued to hit people hard, particularly in villages.

The business, social and education activities are badly affected due to power outages as heat has hit people hard, affecting their health. There is no respite in power outages despite the formation of Imran Khan’s government in the country, who used to make big claims during sit-ins that power load-shedding would be brought under control when he came to power.

During the past 24 hours, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, while very hot in south Punjab and Sindh. However, dust-thunderstorm/rain occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Gujranwala divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
