IGP reviews setting up of crime record offices

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Allah-Dino Khowaja reviewed the establishment of Crime Record Offices (CROs) in all jails of Sindh at a meeting held in Central Police Office Karachi on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Additional IG Karachi, IG Jails Sindh, DIG headquarters Sindh, Director IT CPO and Zonal DIGs.

The Director IT briefed the meeting that all modern equipments are being utilized to maintain the crime record and 62881 criminal records have already been computerized under Criminal Record Management System (CRMS) while 257702 records are being computerized under CRO procedures.

All this computerized record will be available in one software for all police stations, SSPs offices and CIA, through online.

The meeting was further briefed that the installation of CRO System in all jails in Sindh has been completed on the pattern of Punjab so as to ensure inter-linkage to maintain database of crime.

The IGP Sindh directed officials to ensure the arrangements for installation of modern equipment and furniture in all CRO rooms.

He also directed to take appropriate steps to ensure mutual linkage between the CROs in Sindh’s jails and the CROs in jails of other provinces.
