IMF loan to increase price hike: Liaqat

Lahore:Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the PTI decision to approach the IMF for temporary relief would cost the nation heavily.

Talking to the newsmen at the JI office in Islamabad, he said the IMF would demand further raise in the prices of gas, electricity and oil and raise in taxes and thus the government would be repeating the blunders committed by the past governments.

The JI Secretary General said that accountability must be across the board and transparent and the government should not dictate the judiciary, the parliament and other state institutions.

Liaqat Baloch counselled the government not to meddle in the affairs of the madrissahs. He said that the seminaries were the fortresses of Islam and were rendering valuable services for Deen. He said the governments of Pervez Musharraf, Nawaz Sharif and Zardari had also tried to interfere in the affairs of the seminaries under foreign pressure but this created numerous problems for the rulers.
