International Book Day-Seminar

Quetta

QUETTA: Linking relations with books is need of hour. Owing to distance form book reading we are facing difficulties. Every individual of society should play his role for developing knowledge and book friendly culture and to attract younger generation toward books as books show path of prosperity.

TV channels should reserve regular time for introducing new books during their transmissions.

These views were expressed by Chairman Balochistan peace forum Lashkari Raisani, Chief of UNREATH Abdul Mateen Akhundzada, former provincial minister Shah Nawaz Marri, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi, Regional Director AIOU Qamaruddin, Principal Fazaia College Tariq Hussain and others while addressing a seminar held at Press Club here Sunday.

Speakers said that we would try to adopt resolutions in assemblies by contacting elected representatives that Tv channels would introduce 5 books daily during their transmissions so that new generation is enticed towards book culture.

They said every individual should play his role for establishing a peaceful society. During 1970 elections educated people as such Gul Khan Naseer, Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani, Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo were elected. But it is regretted to say that politicians and members of assemblies degrees prove to be fake which is not less than a tragedy.

They said though sources for education have risen yet culture of research in society is diminishing therefore we should introduce book culture and play our role in this regard.

In the context of CPEC our responsibilities have increased.

Stall of books were also established by Brahvi Academy, National Book Foundation, Allama Iqbal Open University, Tehreek Mehnat Quetta, Kalat Publishers and other bodies. People bought books in large numbers.
