Jirga decides old dispute between two groups

LARKANA: A grand jirga, headed by Sardar Ghous Bux Khan Mahar and retired DIGP Saeen Rakhyo Mirani, decided old dispute between two groups of Mirani community of Larkana on Sunday which has held at Wazirabad in which so far nine people have been killed.

The dispute started in 2005 between groups of Mohammad Yakoob Mirani and Akbar Mirani. Five persons of Ghulam Akbar group were gunned down and four of his rival Mohammad Yakoob. A total of Rs 10.06 million fine was imposed on both sides out of which Rs 6.6 million were on Yakoob Mirani and Rs 4 million on Akbar Mirani’s side.

It was further decided that Akbar Mirani’s side will beg pardon after going at the door of his opponent as they committed more murders and also pay balance amount of fine to them. After the decision was announced both sides embraced each other and accepted the decision. Azhar Khan Kamario, Ali Hassan Dahani, Sikander Malah, Zaheer Mirani and others were also present on the occasion. The dispute started over ownership of land.
