JPMC’s fake lady doctor case takes a new turn

KARACHI: The case of a fake lady doctor caught from the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) Karachi here Thursday took a new turn as the public prosecutor raised objection over the charge sheet submitted by police.

According to police charge sheet submitted before the judicial Magistrate (South), the accused Ayesha had come for the first time in the hospital and got arrested.

The prosecutor intervened and raised objection on the charge sheet, contending that the investigators had submitted the challan without recording statements of the main witnesses including staff nurses.

The public prosecutor argued that there are contradictions in the statements of the prosecution’s witnesses and the security guard.

According to the watchman’s statement, the accused came to the hospital for the first time, but the prosecution said that the accused had been performing duties as a doctor in the hospital for last one year.

The public prosecutor further said that JPMC’s administration was not cooperating in investigation and trying to save Ayesha.

The Judicial Magistrate adjourned the hearing and summoned the investigative officer to appear before the court on today (Friday).

The alleged fake lady doctor Ayesha was arrested from JPMC’s gynecology ward in March after the ward administration found her suspicious.
