Karachi: Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim, the head of the judicial commission formed by the apex court to probe into the Sindh government’s alleged failure in providing basic necessities to the people, on Saturday directed the chief secretary and the petitioner to submit their consolidated plans for redress of the issues.
The judicial body directed them to submit their plans in the lights of the order passed by the Supreme Court and the Task Force. Adjourning the matter till January 25, the commission head said that he will visit Karachi and interior Sindh to personally inspect the existing water, sanitation and treatment plants scheme in the intervening period.
Earlier in the day, Justice (retd) Hani also visited the site of water treatment plant and expressed displeasure after seeing the ground reality there. He was appointed as the commission’s head by he Chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar for the period of six months. The CJP had directed the Sindh government to provide security to him. Besides, the apex court had also authorized the commission head to initiate the contempt of court’s proceedings against the delinquent officials.
