Karachi: K-Electric (KE) has won the Corporate Social Responsibility award in the category of Corporate-Community Partnership for its flagship community development project Ujala during the 7th International CSR Summit & Awards 2018 ceremony organized by The Professionals Network at a local hotel.
This is the third consecutive year KE has been recognized on this platform.
Spokesperson KE described the award as a testimony to the power utility’s economic, environmental and social performance. “The award would spur KE to do more in the socio-economic development of the communities it serves.”
KE reaches around 3.9 million lives annually through various SIP initiatives such as facilitating education for the underprivileged; providing free electricity to Karachi’s key educational and health institutions; educating thousands of school children through its fire safety and energy conservation programs while engaging youth through cricket and football platforms including KE-Lyari League.
Over the years, KE has received numerous awards from national and regional organizations endorsing its CSR and environmental excellence initiatives.
