Law Minister directs to expedite the steps for the establishment of Sira Chair at the university level

LAHORE:The first meeting of the Chief Minister’s Committee to celebrate Shan-i- Rehmat-ul-lilalimeen was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.

The meeting deliberated the arrangements for the celebrations of 1st to 12th Rabi-ul-Awal Shaan-i- Rehmat-ul-Ulameen (SAWW). He said that apart from decorating government buildings, lighting should also be done on the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). It was informed in the briefing given to the committee that competitions of Quran recitation and Naat would be held at district, divisional and provincial level in schools and colleges. An exhibition of Islamic calligraphy will be held at Al-Hamra Art Gallery under the spices of Information and Culture department, while the International Conference of Scholars and Mashaikhs, Provincial Competition for Sira Books, Mehfil-i-Sama and National Naatia Mushaira are also part of the celebrations.

The Law Minister directed the Department of Higher Education to expedite the steps for the establishment of Sira Chair at the university level in each division. Director Coordination DGPR Hamid Javed assured that full media coverage of all events across the province would be ensured.
