Karachi: Pasban e Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor handed a human rights award to the mother of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, Asmat Siddiqui.
Altaf Shakoor called on Asmat Siddiqui at her house and presented her the human rights award in the name of Dr Aafia Siddiqui bestowed upon him in the Family Expo and National Talent Award (FENTA 2017).
Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Shakoor said that this award given to the Pasban is now named after Dr Aafia Siddiqui and is presented to her mother.
Asmat Siddiqui thanked Pasban and Altaf Shakoor for remembering the cause of Aafia Siddiqui. She said she is grateful to all political parties and their leaders who remember Aafia.
She said Aafia is not only my daughter but also the daughter of the nation. She said we will not sit idle till the release of Aafia. She urged the leaders of all religious, social and political parties to play their due role for early repatriation of Dr Aafia.
