KARACHI: The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Wednesday claimed to have killed three terrorists of a banned outfit during an encounter with rangers and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh police in Qaimkhani Colony of Karachi. Two LEAs personnel received injuries in the shootout.
According to Rangers spokesman Major Qambar Raza, on an intelligence reports, Rangers and CTD personnel conducted a joint operation in Baldia’s Qaimkhani Colony. During operation the terrorists opened fire on LEAs teams, which was also retaliated by them.
During shootout for some time, three militants affiliated with banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan were killed on the spot, while some of their accomplices managed to flee under the cover of darkness. A Rangers man and a cop received injuries in the shootout.
The LEAs also recovered two suicide jackets, IEDs, large quantity of explosive material and automatic weapons, and an eight-kilogram bomb containing ball bearings from the spot. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
