Mayor regrets tax-generating city being ignored

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said healthcare sector is our topmost priority; we have vision and plans but no resources. Karachi generates huge taxes but it has no proper healthcare facilities.

Addressing to a ceremony held in the Landhi Medical Complex on Wednesday on the start services of morgue and dialysis there, he said our hospitals lack proper equipment, apparatus and medicines.

He; however, said we have started tendering process for provision of medicines to the KMC hospitals.

He said new facilities in Landhi Complex will benefit the residents of Landhi, Korangi and nearby areas.

He appreciated the K- Electric for providing uninterrupted electricity to Landhi Medical Complex and asked such cooperation for other hospitals too.

Akhtar regretted we don’t have even ECG machines in our hospitals which cost just Rs60000. He hoped that Prime Minister Imran Khan will take notice of these issues and help in resolving them.
