Mayor reviews uplift work in Surjani

Karachi: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said laying of 12 and 15 inch diameter sewerage pipe lines in Yousuf Goth, Surjani Town with a cost of Rs20million would solve the sewerage problems in this area and provide relief to the residents who had been facing acute trouble due to accumulation of rainwater in their houses during rainy season.

More development work will be done in this area including construction of 500 manholes and CC Flooring of inner roads and footpaths with a cost of Rs4 Crores.

He said this while to talking to media representatives after a visit of Union Council 38, Faridi Muhalla, Yousuf Goth, Surjani Town on Wednesday to review uplift work.

Mayor said this area was neglected in past and no one paid attention to its basic problems. He said despite of all problems development work is being done in all areas of the city.

Mayor said Water and Sewerage Board must implement the K-IV Project which is imperative to solve the water supply problem in Karachi. It is matter of concern that water board does not even acknowledge the union council 38 of Yousuf Goth.
