KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Tuesday inaugurated a cricket tournament ceremony organized by Karachi University.
The mayor was the chief guest on the occasion. The event was attended by a large number of students, faculty members and students advisor of KU Dr Syed Asim Ali.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony, the mayor said the curricular activities for students are pivotal in order to nurture the minds of students; healthy body ultimately ensures a healthy mind and its growth. KU’s financial conditions look no different than the city government on funds.
He promised to renovate and improve the conditions of Valika Cricket Ground and directed the KMC staff to take proper measures in this regard for the students’ benefits.
Asim said that students and teams from 53 departments are participating in the tournament.
