KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) men held from their party headquarters in a policemen murder case.
The ATC-VII judge found Ubaid alias K2 and Nadir Shah guilty of killing two cops at MA Jinnah Road some 18 years ago. The judge pronounced the verdict after recording witnesses’ statements, evidences and arguments from both sides, observing that the prosecution successfully established its case.
Besides, the court also imposed Rs 200,000 fine on both the convicts who will have to face more imprisonment if they fail to pay the fine amount. Ubaid K2 and Nadir along with others were arrested from MQM headquarter Nine-Zero in Rangers pre-dawn raid on 11th March 2015.
