KARACHI: The annual Urdu Mushaira in memory of Prof. Dr. Saleemuzzaman Siddiqui will be held at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) – University of Karachi (UoK) on Monday.
The Mushaira entitled “Salana Mehfil-e-Sukhan Bayade Professor Saleemuzzaman Siddiqui” will start at 3pm to 04:45pm.
Renowned literary figure former Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will preside over the literary gathering. Director ICCBS Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary will deliver the inaugural speech. The names of prominent poets and poetess, who will be attending the Mushaira, included Anwer Shaoor, Liaquat Ali Asim, Firasat Rizvi, Ahmed Navaid, Nasim Nazish, Rashid Noor, Hijab Abbasi, Akhter Saeedi, Haider Hasnain Jaleesi, Prof. Fayyaz Vaid, Touqeer Taqi, Allaudin Humdam Khanzada, Kashif Ghair, Dilawar Ali Azer, Zaheer Abbas and Shahida Urooj. The mushaira will be moderated by Jafar Askari Jafar.
In the first session, the faculty, staff members and students of the ICCBS will present their poetic work to the audience.
